Although the 2024 Honda Pilot is having a delayed launch, the vehicle should be ready for launch by the end of 2023 (set as the 2024 model). The future Pilot is planned to undergo a redesigned vehicle for its fourth generation model. The vehicle is expected to be available at dealerships in 2023, but with the delayed plan, it should be ready by the end of 2023.
The Updated Plan
The future Pilot has been several times spotted going through testing stage. Based on the spyshot images, the new Pilot would undergo redesigned work as their plan to refresh the appearance. From the spy shot images, it appears that the vehicle has more rugged appearance – especially when compared to the current model. The three row vehicle will likely remain the same in terms of dimension and size, but some basic elements and parts would be different.
Many people have stated that the new 2024 Honda Pilot is heavily inspired by the future Ridgeline pickup truck. What about powertrain and performance? It’s likely that the powertrain will remain the same, still with the V6 unit of 3.5 liter capacity that is able to generate 290 hp and 267 Nm of torque. It should be interesting to know that such powertrain is also used for the redesigned (and new) Acura MDX.
Design and Layout
It’s not really surprising if both Pilot and Acura MDX are using the same powertrain. After all, the new Pilot is rumored to take inspiration from the Acura MDX. Moreover, the future Pilot is constructed with Acura MDX platform, which is quite understandable for their sharing features. If you are interested in having one, you should consider the Black Edition trim, coming with all black parts and 20 inches of alloy wheels.
The Interior Upgrades
We haven’t known the details of the exterior upgrades, but auto enthusiasts are sure that the interior cabin would improve as well. Many have predicted that the 2024 model of Pilot would have comfy interior and plusher vibe. The EX-L and Sport trims would be able to accommodate 8 people, while the Black Edition and the Elite are able to accommodate 7 people. The cabin is plush and quiet, just ideal for long trips.
(Possible) Exterior Updates
Because the Pilot is still heavily covered, some people are able to imagine what the new Pilot would look like. It’s likely that some main elements of the Pilot will remain, with new LED headlamps and also grille. The grille will likely be upright and big. The front end looks more menacing and tougher, creating a bolder appearance. The rest is unknown, but you can rest assured that design looks good and the Pilot has a better design.
Powertrain and Performance
There would be only one engine option provided. But rumor has it that Honda is thinking about providing a plug in hybrid option, which is fairly new, to the pick. But it’s still a rumor as Honda hasn’t said anything about it. The current V6 unit is paired with auto 10 speed transmission and front wheel driving system as the standard. But expect all wheel driving system for the optional pick.

Release Date and Price
The Pilot may not be as popular as the CR-V, but its popularity is increasing from time to time. Moreover, more families view this Pilot as a new desirable option for family ride. Unfortunately, there is no information about the upcoming price and release date. The current Pilot, the base model, is set at $37,500 and the TrailSport is set at $44,300. The most expensive one would be the Black Edition, set at $51,500. We should know more about 2024 Honda Pilot when more information is available.
