There has been a confirmation about the upcoming 2024 Chevy Trax. This crossover has been known for its ideal proportions (many have considered it as snack-sized) and also affordable tag price. It’s a good thing that the company has decided to ‘introduce’ the completely all new model. The new crossover is definitely looking good with more (definitely generous) space, dazzling and impressive redesign, and better safety features.
The Updated Plan
The Trax is planned on coming as the front wheel ride that is coming with three cylinder turbocharged unit (137 hp) and auto 6 speed transmission. Chevy is taking the powertrain idea from the (smaller) Trailblazer while the style is inspired from the (midsize) Blazer. This new Trax would continue being built in the company’s manufacturing plant in South Korea. Because of the inexpensive price tag, the Trax has become the third most inexpensive crossovers on the market, right behind Kia Soul and Hyundai Venue.
The Trax has experienced a short hiatus, but now it’s back in production. The crossover is coming as a thicker one with more features offered as the standard. The new Trax is definitely made better than the previous model. Both the exterior and interior would be new. It even comes with longer wheelbase, which means that you can enjoy more cargo capacity and rear legroom. Instead of two, the Trax now has five trim levels.
Price and Trim Levels
As it was mentioned before, the new 2024 Chevy Trax would be coming with five new trim levels. The first, and the base trim level, would be the LS with predicted price of $21,500. The higher level would be the 1RS with the tag of $23,200. The next trim level would be the LT with the price of $23,400. The fourth trim would be the 2RS with a tag of around $25,000. And the last one would be the ACTIV with a tag price of $26,000.
The best thing about the Trax is that it can offer great features (and generous offers) without hurting your wallet. If you want the best offer than is worth the spending, then the LT would be just the perfect option. It comes with a remote start and big infotainment touchscreen (11.0 inch). There are also optional heated steering wheel and front seats. You can expect Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as the standard features too.
Powertrain and Performance
The Trax is only offered with one powertrain. It’s running on three cylinder turbocharged unit with 1.2 liter capacity that can generate 137 hp. It’s paired with auto six speed transmission. It’s also coming with front wheel driving system only. When compared to the Trailblazer, the Trax is bigger. The last Trailblazer was able to reach 60 mph in 9.4 seconds with all wheel driving system. Hopefully, the Trax would be able to have the same performance when it’s finally tested out.
Interior Comfort
The Trax has experienced a new cabin through its redesigned work. With neatly placed climate controls and infotainment screen facing the driver, the cabin isn’t only functional, but also comfortable. Because the Trax is coming with longer wheelbase, you can enjoy the extra 3 inches of legroom (on the rear) and also cargo space. The standard features are convenient and generous enough, and you can even add more comfort with the optional sunroof, heated steering wheel, and also heated front seats.
Release Date
We already know about the price range based on the different trim levels. For the launch date, the Trax would be available around spring time in 2023. We should wait for further information and detailed specs of the new 2024 Chevy Trax.
