The launch for 2024 Maserati GranTurismo has been previewed as The Alfieri concept ride, but coming with styling cues from Grecale SUV. According to the company’s plan, the new GranTurismo would be joining MC20 supercar lineup in 2023. The company is offering both the full electric and gas unit models, but the electric type would be coming with Folgore name – meaning Lightning in Italian.
The Updated Plan
The GranTurismo would be coming in a convertible model, which is called, the GranCabrio, but it would likely be coming as the 2025 model. The GranTurismo coupe gas model should launch first, running on the V6 twin turbo Nettuno white hot unit that has been detuned. All models would be coming with auto 8 speed transmission and all wheel driving system.
GranTurismo would be a completely new model that is offered in 2023. After all, the nameplate has been discontinued from the lineup after Maserati last released the 2019 model.
Prices and Trim Levels
It seems that there would only be 2 offered trim levels for the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo. The basic level would be the Modena, which is set at around $190,000. The second one would be the Trofeo (which is a performance oriented model), which is offered at around $220,000. Naturally, the Trofeo doesn’t only come with more power, but it also comes with unique interior (design) elements, racier looking exterior appearance, electronic locking differential, and one of a kind forged wheels.
Powertrain and Performance
As it was mentioned before, the GranTurismo would get the V6 twin turbo unit, which is the MC20 sport ride’s detuned version. The basic Modena would be able to generate 483 hp, while the Trofeo is able to deliver 542 hp. It is able to reach 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, which is impressive. However, the Trofeo has more weight, affecting its final horsepower when compared to the MC20.
The most powerful powertrain would be the Folgore which is able to generate 750 hp, sourcing from its 3 (electric) motors. The gas unit GranTurismo comes with auto 8 speed and all wheel driving system as the standard. Unfortunately, for this 2024 model, no manual transmission has been offered.
Design and Layout
The GranTurismo is designed as a two door model, with four seater arrangement. The back area is pretty small and limited, but it has an impressive speed. Expect to find upscale finish and improved features for the cabin. The old GranTurismo had silk and leather upholstery, which is expected from the new model. The cargo and passenger space would be the same to its main rivals, the Mercy AMG GT and Aston Martin Vantage. When the GranCabrio is coming, expect more decrease in the trunk because of the folding roof fabric.
