The upcoming 2024 Porsche Taycan is planned to have an update, just like the rest of the lineups. But it seems that the company is still going through the testing stage because the recent spy shots have just been around the net.
The Updated Plan
As it was mentioned before, there have been several spy shots of the Taycan GT3, which is the high performance ride of the (electric) sedan. But Porsche seems to have more in their sleeves because it’s not the only model that they are preparing. There have been several spyshots of another prototype (for the Taycan, of course). It’s quite surprising to see TWO prototypes of the vehicle being spotted in Germany. Those prototypes are for the Sport Turismo as well as the sedan. Both of them were spotted having minimal cover, which leads to the possibility that small facelift should be expected. In fact, it’s logical to believe that the updates would only happen to the rear and also front area of the vehicle.
The Spyshot Images
Porsche has been known to provide small updates only, focusing on the rear and also front area. It’s not common for them to change the powertrain, which is likely the case with the new 2024 Porsche Taycan. The prototype comes with camo on the back and also the front, leading to us believing that the changes would likely happen there. But then again, this is still an early prototype, which means that more should be expected. Other Porsche models got revised brake lights, revised taillights, new hood, and slimmer headlights. It’s possible that the Taycan may get the same treatment.
Powertrain and Performance
Model lineup will likely stay. It means that there would be the base Taycan, followed by Taycan 4S, and then Taycan GTS. Higher than that would be Taycan Turbo, and Taycan Turbo S would be the highest trim level.
The entry level would be running on one electric motor located on the rear, generating 321 hp. It can reach 402 hp when you activate the launch control. In Taycan 4S, there would be two electric motors generating 429 hp – and 522 hp with the launch control. Taycan GTS is running on two motor layout, delivering 509 hp. If you want faster Taycan, go with the Turbo, which can generate 616 hp. It is able to reach 60 mph within 3 seconds only. But if you want electric ride with great boost of power, go with Turbo S that can generate 750 hp. It is able to reach 60 mph in ‘only’ 2.6 seconds.
Q and A
Q: When is the new Taycan planned to release?
A: Because everything is still shady and it seems that the car hasn’t entered the production stage, it’s most likely that it would launch sometime in 2023; closing to the end. It’s even possible that the launch may take place at the beginning of 2024, if the schedule is a bit miss.
Q: What would be the price range for the Taycan?
A: The information about the price is very limited, but the possibility of price hike is quite slim. Or if there is a price hike, it would be very small. The current price is around $86,700 for the basic trim, while the Turbo S Taycan Cross Turismo is set at around $190,000. We should learn more about 2024 Porsche Taycan update when more info is available.
