The new 2024 BMW X3 has been set to get some updates, where the focus would be highlighted on the inside. Expect high tech cabin and also evolutionary styling for the new model. The information is very limited up to this point, but you can see the entire design improvement even from the available spy images.
The Interior Cabin
The X3 keeps on going with its slow progress. It’s still going through testing stage, but it’s pretty close to production. After several spy shots only capture the exterior area of the vehicle, there have finally some photos that show the interior appearance of the crossover.
As you can predict, the cabin is also heavily covered and disguised. But from the look and design of it, it’s highly likely that it would have the new technology of the Curved Display. Although there is no specific detail about it, this digital instrument would likely be in 12.3 inch size. The digital instrument would be 12.3 inch in size, while the infotainment system would be bigger, around 14.9 inch. If the news is true, it would be a pretty significant improvement from the display techs in X1, with 10.25 inch and 10.7 inch respectively.
With the screen aside, there would be other improvements happening to the cabin. Expect updated switchgear and a new (flat-bottom) steering wheel. The X3 is said to have the latest technology, especially with the vehicle using a more minimalist gear selector to replace the traditional shifter.
The Exterior Design
What about the exterior design language for the new 2024 BMW X3? The crossover is planned (and scheduled) to get streamlined and evolutionary appearance. It’s true that the prototype vehicle is still wearing a heavy camo, so numbers of details are hidden underneath it, but from the overall design, we can actually guess what the overall design would look like.
From the silhouette, it seems that there is a prominent and quite unique grille, flanked by the sweptback headlights. Going further below, you can see the slender and slim air curtains with a (wide) central intake, complete with its pronounced vertical support, which is located right in the center. The transformation keeps going on, up to the A-pillar shift. The new X3 adopts the unique shoulder line (which is curvaceous) completes with the flush mounted door handles. All of these designs look great with four tailpipe (exhaust) system and the sloping roof style.
Powertrain and Performance
Beemer hasn’t said anything about their engine options. They don’t seem to want confirming anything, but some sources stated that you can expect six cylinder as well as four cylinder units, together with electric and also plug in hybrid powertrains. The specific details are still blurry, but you can take a look at the current model for ideas. The current X3 comes with four cylinder turbocharged unit with 2.0 liter capacity, delivering 248 hp or 185 kW/252 PS. It also comes with inline six turbocharged unit with 3.0 liter capacity that can generate 382 hp or 285 kW/387 PS.
It’s quite unfortunate that the information about the hybrid powertrain and the electric unit is still unavailable because it should be exciting to see what X3 would offer to the lineup. Hopefully, the company would be ready to reveal more pretty soon.
Price and Release Date
This updated vehicle has been scheduled to debut sometime in this year; probably by the end of this year. The price is still unknown, but with the improved look and the updated work, it’s likely that the price range would increase from the current tag. We should know more about the upcoming 2024 BMW X3 once more information and further updates are available.
