Some news and updates have been unveiling about the future 2024 Porsche 911, especially about the facelifted nature. Spy photographers have been relentless in taking the spy images, both for the exterior as well as the interior cabin. Still, the company doesn’t want to say much about this update in the development. So, what can you expect from the new 911?
The Obvious Changes
From the spy shots, we can see that some significant changes are seriously happening on the inside. Some of the key components are untouched, showing their carryover nature. However, there is also an obvious update. You can see completely digital instrument cluster in there, which shows quite significant change. The current one has analog tachmeter, flanked by 2 digital displays. So having the possibility of digital cluster is surely exciting.
Design and Styles
Consider this as a modest update, and it continues on the exterior area. Both the convertible and coupe models come with front bumper featuring (active) shutter intakes having vertical slats, opening and closing when needed. They are also accompanied by daytime running lights and horizontal accents, basically hidden right beneath the black tape.
On the rear area, the disguise is more tightly covered, but if you take a closer look, the new bumper is visible. The (dual) exhaust system has tips located pretty close together, and there is also higher recess for the license plate on the bumper. Engine vents are heavily covered, meaning that Porsche may update this area too.
Powertrain and Performance
Porsche may not say much about their upcoming 2024 Porsche 911, but it doesn’t hurt to expect some familiar powertrains to be offered. Having the possibly improved power is also nice because there is always a chance of better performance. The current 911 Carrera comes with six cylinder twin turbo unit to churn 379 hp and 448 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 911 Carrera S is able to generate 443 hp and 528 Nm of torque. The GTS is able to generate 473 hp and 569 Nm of torque.
However, some of those spy photographers are able to catch the possibility flat six unit with 4.0 liter capacity for hybrid option. There is very limited info about it, but the company wants to maintain the weight to be minimum and focus more on performance (instead of efficiency).
For now, Porsche doesn’t have any plan to be committed to pure electric. They already have Taycan for that matter. They also have Macan SUV and Boxster/718 Cayman for their future electrification. Unfortunately, the 911 isn’t exactly an easy option for electrification. Hybrid power is possible, but then again, there is no detail about it.
