After previously the Star SUV concept was only….well, a concept, the company has finally decided that they are going to make 2025 Lincoln Star. Lincoln has shown their Start (concept) SUV as their electrified future. It’s designed as a two row crossover with mid size dimension having a dramatic interior to boost the visual appearance. The Star would be the first EVs within Lincoln lineups that would be introduced to the market.
The Updated Plan
According to Lincoln, the Star would be coming with rear wheel driving system and also all wheel driving system, together with electric units as a part of their package offering. If everything goes as planned, the Star may be coming in 2024; most likely by the end of 2024 or the very early 2025. From the concept, the interior cabin will have high- tech design and features, including integrated chiller (for the beverage), digital display (the full width type), sculpted seats (on the front and also the back), trim pieces in rose gold, and also crystal accents.
From the look of it, the exterior area shares similarities with the Aviator (well, half of it), while the other half looks like a spaceship. It also comes with big (front) trunk area that also includes a drawer. It can slide out so the owner doesn’t have any difficulty to access the extra storage space.
The 2025 Lincoln Star would be a completely new nameplate for the vehicle. But you should remember that you shouldn’t get your hopes high. Although the concept design showed a lot of advanced and cool features, it doesn’t mean that all of them will go to production. Most auto manufacturers would create the coolest concept rides, but they never promise that those things will be included in the production model.
Price and Trim Levels
There would be several trim levels being offered, together with the price range. The base level would be the Standard, offered at around $70,000, while the higher trim would be the Reserve with a tag of $75,000. The highest trim would be the Black Label, with a price tag of $85,000.
These price ranges and trim levels aren’t officially announced as they are only predictions from auto enthusiasts. It’s still unclear whether the new Star would follow the current trim options (as set by Lincoln) or if there would be another trim level option.
Powertrain and Performance
Considering that the Star is meant to be a quick, agile, and powerful electric crossover, it means that the company would be serious about designing it. The company hasn’t said anything about their planned propulsion system, but it’s possible that they use the same arrangement as the Mustang Mach E (from Ford). If it does, it means that it would be coming with two electric motors that would be paired up with different sizes of battery, most likely from 75.7 kWh to around 98.8 kWh. Such an arrangement can deliver 459 hp with all wheel driving system as the standard. There is a possibility of standard adaptive suspension, generating plush and comfy effect that lives up to Lincoln standard.
The Interior Comfort
The cabin of the Star would represent luxury and plushness. It is meant to be comfortable and accommodating. That’s what there would be the adjustable Perfect Position seat (with its 30-way technology) that isn’t only visually appealing but also highly functional. It has massage functions, paired up with leather upholstery of Bridge of Weir. There is also a possibility of push button piano key shifter for the unit.
Expect some sophisticated features as well as standard safety techs. Expect bigger display screen as well as the newest Sync 3 interface software to make the experience better. We should know more about 2025 Lincoln Star updates, including release date and price.
