The upcoming 2025 GMC Yukon would be the fifth gen of the full size SUV. It’s quite logical if this vehicle will get a mid cycle refreshed work as the fifth (model) year. The changes are basically following the Yukon 2021 model which got a complete redesign and also re-engineering touch-up. After the 2021 model, the 2022 model got minor changes – which also happened to 2023 model Yukon and also 2024 model. So, what should you know about the new Yukon?
The Updated Plan
As a full size SUV, the 2025 GMC Yukon would have front engine and longitudinal layout with several engine options. If everything goes as planned, the new Yukon would be manufactured at the auto maker’s manufacturing plant in Arlington, Texas. This new model should be available for the Middle East as well as North America. There are also some target markets being planned, but the company hasn’t revealed the information just yet.
In terms of model line, the new Yukon would be a carryover type, still including the same trim level options. It starts with the SLE, and then SLT, and AT4 next, and then topped off with Denali and finally Denali Ultimate. However, rumor has it that the SLE as well as SLT may be replaced by a new trim, known as the Elevation and Elevation Premium.
Design and Model
With a refreshed plan in mind, it’s quite understandable to expect some updates happening to the ride. According to the company’s update plan, the new front fascia would get some updates, along with the rear taillights and fascia. You can also expect new wheel options and also communication antenna fin (with roof mounted design) for 5G capability.
For the interior, the spacious layout will remain the same. But the cockpit will have this overhauled design, with a new bigger screen for infotainment and also a new center stack (a revised one) for all models, except the Denali. For the Denali, the interior will be similar to the current one, so there shouldn’t be anything new.
Powertrain and Performance
There is going to be new updates and new engine options for 2025 Yukon. The existing Duramax diesel of 3.0 liter capacity would be replaced by a new Duramax turbodiesel unit of 3.0 liter capacity. The new turbodiesel unit is believed to deliver more torque and power, while at the same time fixing the long crank issue.
For the AT4, there is a possibility that it would be coming with the so-called Baby Duramax unit. This is pretty new because the Yukon’s lineup from 2021 to 2024 models don’t offer diesel option for the AT4 because the front fascia somewhat doesn’t support it.
Price and Trim Levels
The Yukon isn’t exactly a cheap SUV, so you should be prepared spending more for 2025 GMC Yukon if you are interested in one. The base trim, which is the SLE (or it’s probably going to be the Elevation) is predicted to start at around $60,500. It means that the SLT is likely sold at around $65,500, the AT4 is set at around $72,500, the Denali is at around $76,500, and the Denali Ultimate has the most significant price bump at around $100,500.
We can’t really be sure about these price lists considering that they aren’t exactly the official ones made by the company. But it doesn’t hurt to keep in mind that Yukon has been designed as this premium and luxurious SUV, which makes it logical if they set the price at such a level. But if you want to play it safe, you’d better wait for the company’s official announcement concerning 2025 GMC Yukon before making any purchasing decision.
