The 2025 BMW 5 Series is designed with improved performance and better styling to compete against other tough competitors. One of them is to create a distinguished design, including dynamic lines and big kidney grille. Naturally, there would be some significant transformations that are happening on the inside and also the outside. Hopefully, there would also be powertrain transformations that would complete the entire performance of this ride.
What’s Happening
The sedan itself would be coming as a (four-door) sedan and also Touring body style with five door layout. Moreover, the new 2025 model would have a curved display and fully digital cockpit. On the inside, the new car would have a completely different cabin than the current one. The current prototype comes with a felt flap, located under infotainment display to conceal (separate) air vents and climate control unit. There would also slim air vents being integrated to the sculpted upper panels, the A-pillars, and also integrated door handles. For the new 2025 BMW 5 Series, different technologies and materials, including metal, aluminum, and carbon fiber would be included.
The Exterior Appearance
This next gen vehicle is basically similar to the existing current model. It would retain the impressive kidney grille, which has basically been removed, but now coming back with more angular model and also thinner styling. The fenders would be taper back with slimmer headlights. It would be coming with the sophisticated iDrive 8 OS. The interior, just like the exterior, would be heavily affected by the popular 7-Series line.
Powertrain and Performance
The new ride is running on electric power. It may be running on six or even four cylinders, but we aren’t really sure. There is always a possibility of a plug in hybrid technology, along with turbocharged unit with 3.0 liter capacity that is paired up with one (or even two) electric motors. The M5 would be running on electric unit, and it should be available in 2025.
There are 3 different powertrains offered for the 5 Series, including full electric, PHEV, and hybrid. M5 Competition, for instance, is known as the most powerful variant of 5 Series lineup. It is running on V8 twin turbocharged unit with 4.4 liter capacity, delivering 617 hp and 553 Nm of torque. The next gen 5 Series would be debuting a new mild hybrid unit (of 48V). Revised exterior and interior should be expected, considering that it would go on rivalry with Volvo S90, Audi A6, and Mercy E-Class.
Design Language
Although the new model would be coming as a sedan or with Touring body, but many are hopeful that it would be available as a coupe. We aren’t still sure whether the company will keep it, but the new body design language will definitely be changing. One of the biggest (and most dramatic) changes would be incorporating the oversized grille. The new model may have a more conventional design, with three box (body) style, making it appear as a three box sedan. Expect aggressive headlights and grille, together with thin LED strip and thin taillights with the coupe-like roofline.
Doors would be another change happening to the design. The flush handle isn’t only about boosting the exterior style, but it will also improve the aerodynamic efficiency. We should know more after the testing stage has been done and completed.
Price and Release Date
There is no information about the price range. There is no prediction either. Keep in mind that Beemer is preparing this next gen model alongside the M5 performance oriented sports sedan and all electric i5 type. Hopefully, the four door ride would debut within the late 2023, with sales taking place in the mid of 2024. WE should know more about 2025 BMW 5 Series once more information is available.
